Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Waveshed ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Waveshed provides browser-based RF propagation simulation powered by the Aether Engine. The Service runs computations locally in your browser using WebAssembly and WebGPU. No server-side processing of simulation data occurs in the free tier.

3. Simulation Results — No Warranty

Simulation results are estimates only. They are based on terrain models and propagation algorithms that approximate real-world conditions. Results should not be solely relied upon for safety-critical decisions, regulatory filings, or network deployment without independent field verification.

Terrain data is sourced from public datasets (Copernicus, SRTM) with inherent resolution and accuracy limitations. The Service makes no guarantee of accuracy for any specific location or scenario.

4. Intellectual Property & Restrictions

The Service, including its software, WebAssembly binaries, GPU shader code, algorithms, design, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Waveshed. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose.

You may not:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract source code from WebAssembly binaries or GPU shaders delivered by the Service
• Redistribute, sublicence, or commercially reuse any part of the Service's software or algorithms
• Circumvent usage limits, rate limiting, or access controls
• Use automated tools to scrape, extract, or bulk-download data from the Service
• Resell access to the Service without written authorization

Your simulation results and exported data (PNG, GeoTIFF, KMZ) remain your property.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service:

• For any purpose that violates applicable law
• To interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• To transmit malware, exploit vulnerabilities, or conduct security attacks
• In a manner that negatively impacts other users' experience

6. Third-Party Data & Attribution

The Service uses third-party terrain and map data under their respective licences:

• Copernicus DEM (ESA) — open licence
• SRTM (NASA) — public domain
• OpenStreetMap contributors — ODbL
• Microsoft Building Footprints — ODbL
• OpenFreeMap — ODbL
• swisstopo — open use licence

You are responsible for complying with these licences when using exported results commercially.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Waveshed shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed CHF 100 or the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [Canton], Switzerland.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
